The Carefree Cottage is located next to the Highland Lawn Historic District. Originally built as a miner’s cabin in the 1920s, it has undergone several updates. The latest renovation by Sopher Sparn Architects aimed to preserve its historic charm while introducing a contemporary aesthetic. The updates enhance stunning views of the Foothills and Mount Sanitas, featuring a spacious kitchen and family room, a large outdoor living area with a modern pergola, and a second-story balcony extending from the new Owner’s Suite. The white oak ceiling in the Owner’s Suite flows seamlessly out to the balcony, emphasizing the breathtaking view beyond. Our client worked closely with Red Pepper Interior Design to select playful materials that complement their eclectic furniture and artwork.
